A Trivia Night fundraiser is a fun way to raise money or awareness for your cause. In the past few years my business women’s club has held several trivia nights to benefit our college scholarship program. It’s been a lot of fun each time, and usually raises between $1,000 – $3,000 with between 30-50 people in attendance. A small amount is raised on the ticket price. Most of the funds come from sponsorships and side fundraisers like a silent auction. This is a fundraiser that could be scaled up for a larger crowd and higher fundraising goal.

If you’d like some more information about exactly how to plan your trivia night click here for the Trivia Night Fact Sheet.

We have used the online trivia wizard to create the questions, the game boards/scoring sheets. This easy system will create a professional, custom trivia game to use at your fundraising event. You can preview the questions, throw out ones you don’t like, add your own questions too. There are four rounds of trivia and they can all be general interest or you can make each round a specific category. It’s very flexible.

The game is played in teams of two and everyone answers all of the questions on their team answer sheet.  This set up allows everyone to participate during the whole game.  Everyone gets an equal chance to play and win.

Create a Completely Customized Set of Trivia Questions

Using the Trivia Night Event Wizard online software you’ll build an exciting, multiple-round, professionally presented trivia night package. The process of building your customized trivia game is fast and easy.  You simply follow the prompts through the Event Wizard, selecting the options as you go. You can exit or go back at any time.

There are a wide range of quiz package options from short to longer games and even multi packs if you host a series of nights or an ongoing contest. The price of the Trivia Night game depends on the type of game chosen and the number of games (for multi night trivia tournaments).

How the Trivia Wizard works:

  • You select the number of questions your 4 rounds of trivia will contain
  • Select the region you wish the questions to be based around (Australia, UK or North America).
  • Select the category for each round (mixed, sports, geography, etc)
  • The Event Wizard shows you a preview of the system selected questions for each round.
  • You can swap any question with any other questions in the online database or add your own questions.
  • Select the bonus and tie break questions
  • Choose a puzzle page or pages to keep your trivia teams occupied while you mark their scores.
  • The Event Wizard then shows you a preview of your quiz pack.

Excellent article! I’ve been hosting trivia nights for years, and started fundraising for some clients and have found that a trivia night fundraiser is the perfect marriage of the two.

I also agree that getting someghing pre-made is ideal…let the pros come up with the questions, more than likely they have been doing it for years and know the right mix of difficulties…
