Letters bookAt the beginning of December last year Sandy Rees and I released the ebook titled 7 Essential Steps to Raising Money by Mail.   Even though the printed version was not ready then we wanted to get this information out to groups who were finishing up a year-end appeal.  There was an ebook only option, but those who pre-ordered the printed book also got the ebook and free shipping.

Now it’s the end of January and an update on the status of the print version is way overdue.  After a short holiday break we got back to the formatting and editing of the print version.  Since this was the first time that one of my publications went to print (rather than digital ebooks) I was a bit green on how the process goes.  I’d hoped to have the print books ready to ship this week.  Alas, this is not the case.

The good news is that we have cleared some hurdles and are now waiting on the shipment of books to come in.  (This also applies to the Silent Auction Guide which was also in pre-order for the print version.) Right now I’m estimating a late February ship date.  If somehow we are able to get a rush order through then it will be even sooner than that.

I sent out an email to customers who ordered the book this afternoon, but thought this post would be a “just in case” measure if someone missed that email.

Again, thanks for your understanding.  I’ll send out an email when we have a firm ship date.

Oh, and by the way… the pre-order free shipping special is still in effect.  All orders of the print book will also still get the digital ebook right away.  That’s an immediate download after payment.

Here’s the order page for 7 Essential Steps to Raising Money by Mail and the Silent Auction Guide & Toolkit too.

Next time, I’m sure the printing process will go much more smoothly.  I’ll also follow Amazon’s lead and have a ship date listed on the order page.  You live and learn, right?
