I am with the Hampton House Tenant Asso. we are in need of a Bingo machine,our machine is very old and does not work properly. We are trying to raise money for a new or used one any donation would be greatly appreciated.

Hi, I am on the board of our music booster non profit and we are in desperate need of help. We have a small band from a small school in a small town in Indiana. We have no funds to purchase new instruments and the fudn raisers we are doing are raising enough money to purchase the items we need. Is there a place I can put our wishlist that maybe someone could donate the instruments or we could receive agrant to do so ourselves.

Also, non-profits can post wish lists on AlchemList – the website that makes in-kind donation as easy as item, zip, search. Registration is fast, easy and free. This helps potential donors find your organization and your wish list.

Our company does not provide item donations; we do try to provide contacts and suggestions on how you can get the items you need. Besides the wish list suggestions listed in the article above, you can look for free/inexpensive equipment on websites such as Craigslist and Freecycle. Good luck to you!

Hi Amber, usually when groups do a collection drive you publicize it to your own group to get collections. Like asking students to contribute. It’s good if you specify what items you would like to collect. See what the Children’s Hospital really needs and then decide on a theme. You could focus on “happy meal” type toys, stuffed animals or even something like toothbrushes and toothpaste. Anyway a specific theme with a limited number of items is best.

You might contact hotel/motels in your area and see if they would donate travel size items for care packages. Then ask students to donate travel sizes too. You could get several items for just $5 so it might be fun and inexpensive for them to participate. Those are just a few ideas. Good luck!

I was wondering if you had a way for me to figure out how to get companies to donate items or give grants for us to collect for the Arkansas Children’s Hospital. They are looking for everyday items, toys, and clothing
