It’s one of those things that does make it difficult for local wine businesses. Do you buy wine there often? If not, they aren’t going to be thrilled with another donation request (we get at least 15 a month). You can set it up so that wine the night of is donated and guests are encourage to purchase the wine being poured with a percentage going back to the charity. That usually works well for everyone involved and means you can talk to the same wine store next year about your event!

Great post. I agree it can be pretty tough to ask for money and good work creating a fund intimate environment to talk with your friends. I have found that friends what to support each other it’s all about asking for the right size gifts and engaging them in the right way.
