Giving: How Each of Us Can Change the World was published by Random House on Tuesday, September 4th. Clinton has appeared on Oprah and the Late Show with David Letterman this week to talk about his new book.

According to Random House, the book shares “extraordinary and innovative efforts now being made by companies and organizations – to solve problems and save lives.” It especially encourages everyone to discover what they can do, no matter their income, age, time available or their skills – what they can do to help others.

Clinton shares the experiences of Bill and Melinda Gates, who are well-known for their tremendous generosity in many fields. He shares the story of six-year-old McKenzie Steiner who created a drive to clean up a beach in her community. Clinton also shares from his personal experiences with giving.

We all have the capacity to do great things,” President Clinton says. “My hope is that the people and stories in this book will lift spirits, touch hearts, and demonstrate that citizen activism and service can be a powerful agent of change in the world.
