Food banks are absolutely great! I want to commend everyone who donates to these food banks, both people and companies who give selflessly.

My friend and I are starting an organization. We are a bunch of high school students, and we are looking for a place to meet every other week. However, all of these places charge money, so we needed a fundraising idea. Can you guys help me come up with an event that we can host for fundraising, and exactly how to go about setting it up, step-by-step, and how to put together every part of it.

Wonderful! And this one is easy, because everyone has spare cans of food in their pantry! I love this blog... it makes me want to be more proactive. THANK YOU!

You can also volunteer your time working at the food bank. By collecting donations, stocking shelves and passing out food items to the needy, you will help the organization serve the community efficiently.

I love these ideas. Also Starbucks gives away all of their unsold pastries on a daily basis (if you are willing to pick them up).

We have been doing this for a few months and it works. Look for coupons and match them with articles of food that you use or need. You can also use double coupons which we do. Dedicate at least three coupons to your local food bank, and when you purchase the articles you use, donate the value of the coupons to your local food bank and keep the product. We have been able to donate about $25 each month in the value of the coupons alone. If enough people do this it will fund the local food bank along with their donations from companies.Thank you
