Abigail Beal is a freelance writer and has a passion for fund-raising and not-for-profit work. At eight she created her first fund-raiser with several friends to benefit the North Shore Animal League (it raised sixty dollars). She has been a fund-raiser for The Leukemia & Lymphoma Society. She has also coordinated volunteers for an eldercare facility in her community. Abigail has a certificate in Fund-raising and Development for Not-for-Profit Organizations from Marymount College at Fordham University and she has taken classes at The Foundation Center. She lives in suburban New York with her family and three (very spoiled) cats.

The 12th Annual Used Book Sale for Mississauga Symphony held from Thursday, September 19th to Sunday, September 23rd 2007 in Mississauga, (Ontario, Canada) at the Sheridan Centre. Nearly 4,000 bright yellow rubber ducks were “adopted” in the very first Duck Derby for the Child Advocacy Center of Rutherford County, Tennessee.
