Jason -- Good point, they can be lots of work to get started. I'd suggest that a group who has never golf before partner with another organization on one first. They could possibly raise more funds and do it more efficiently. Then instead of having to do everything themselves, they'd have the time to spend with donors at the event, as you mentioned.

Michelle -- That is great that you have a strong foundation to build on. Let us know how it goes, and in the meantime if you have any questions.

Great information. We have had a golf tournament for 15 years now and our Coach that coordinates it is leaving so they are asking me to take over. I am looking forward to it but also looking forward to interjecting new ideas and ways to generate even more money. Thanks for the information.

Great post. I've typically steered away from charity golf tournaments as they can be so much work to get started. But they can be a lot of fun. It is a great way to spend some good quality time with a small group of donors.
